Moontears sighed in relief as the oil soothed his cracked pads. "I'm sorry, I haven't even told you my name yet. I'm Tears that Fall from the Moon." he said, casting an embarrassed look to the young she-cat that his introduction was so overdue.

Whitepaw blinked in surprise. She had forgotten to introduce herself as well.
"That's a very long name, Tears that Fall from the Moon. Is there something shorter I can call you?" Whitepaw asked nervously.
"Oh! I forgot to give you my name. I'm Whitepaw, medicine cat apprentice of WindClan," she added quickly.
"Are you feeling any better? You should probably rest now. Follow me," Whitepaw led the way to her den, where Phoenixpaw had laid extra bedding for Moontears. Sunstorm was still sleeping, not quite looking peaceful, but not as restless as before. Still, she looked at the deputy sadly, knowing she was probably still in some pain. Poppy seeds could only do so much.

Tears that Fall from the Moon looked thoughtful as he padded behind the small she-cat, wondering what he could call himself. He had been known as Moon in the tribe, but that name didn't quite seem to be too fitting here in Windclan. He was absolutely fascinated with this place. A medicine cat to-be? They actually trained young cats in herblore and ancestral ties? "I'm feeling much better..." he meowed in a slight daze. It was so much to take in. "I'm not sure what the customs of your clan are in terms of names." he admitted. "You can call me whatever you'd like though." he said, his voice still full of wonder as he followed her into the den.

"Well... our names have two parts to them, and they are very important in the Clans. Each newborn is given the first part of its name by its mother, along with the name 'kit'. when we are apprentices, 'kit' is changed to 'paw'. Our leader gives us the last part of our name, and it usually has to do with out appearance, fighting style or our personality... It's a little confusing for me too, I haven't been here in WindClan long..." Whitepaw explained.
"Tears that Fall from the Moon... maybe... Moontears would work?" she suggested. and then went over to check on Sunstorm. No better, no worse than earlier. Whitepaw sighed, wishing she could do more.
"This is Sunstorm. She was badly injured during a fight with an enemy. I think her ribs are broken... but I don't know what to do other than to ease her pain..." she mewed, desperation showing in her crystal blue eyes.

Moontears angled his head. I wonder where she came from? Certainly, not the mountains, or I would have recognized her.... The tom shook his head to clear it. Moontears. It was a beautiful name. It resounded in his thoughts and made him feel complete. He nodded. "If your clan will have me, I like the name Moontears." he commented. He followed the white apprentice over to a bright colored she-cat. He bent over her, delicately sniffing and gently touching her wounds. "There's not a lot you can do for broken ribs. She has at least two. Just make sure that nothing it obstructing her airways, as it's going to be painful enough moving and breathing as it is. You gave her something for the pain already?" he asked.

"It is a lovely name. I'm sure Jaystar would be happy to take you into the Clan," Whitepaw purred. Her face fell when Moontears explained the few options they had.
"She has no problem breathing, other than the pain. I gave her poppy seeds, but I'm not sure how well they're working. Her face seems... restless," Whitepaw confessed her fears.
"White...paw..." Sunstorm's voice was weak and small, her words broken up with both the drowsiness the seeds caused, and that she could feel the dull ache in her chest.
Whitepaw flicked a tail over her mouth. "Rest, Sunstorm," she said sternly, but not unkindly.
"Who..." Sunstorm refused Whitepaw's order, and flicked her ginger tabby tail in the direction of Moontears. Her gold eyes were dull with the pain and exhaustion that she felt.
"A friend," Whitepaw answered. "Don't worry, he's an asset to the Clan, not a threat," she added to ease Sunstorm's concern. It was so like the devoted deputy to still put the Clan first, as always.

Moontears sighed. "Well, her broken ribs haven't punctured any other organs at least... He closed his eyes and thought a moment, and then studied the herbs on the walls. So many looked unfamilliar to him. Guide me, ancestors. Let me prove that I belong here! he prayed. Suddenly, images began to appear in his mind. He carefully picked out Juniper berries, comfrey, and ragwort leaves from the shelves using his memory. "These will help." he said confidently.

"You're sure?" Whitepaw asked, but took the herbs he had suggested, chewing them up in her small, sharp teeth, and spitting them out. She began mixing them together on top of a dockleaf, taking great care with her small, delicate paws. She pushed the mixture towards Sunstorm, who bent her head slowly to sniff at it.
"It will help," Whitepaw promised, believing in Moontears' confidence. Sunstorm ate the poultice without complaint. "You should sleep some more," the small apprentice suggested.

Moontears nodded, his bright blue eyes full of certainty, though he wasn't exactly sure where it was coming from. The sandy pelted tom then walked to the exit of the den and stood just outside it, waiting for Whitepaw to join him. He spotted the giant black tom again, unmoving as stone lying beside his fallen clanmates. Moontears felt a lurch of empathy. He had left all of his clanmates and everything he had known to come here. He wished he could help the black tom, Pantherfang....but there weren't herbs for emotional or spiritual wounds, were there?

Whitepaw gently licked Sunstorm on top of the head as the red tabby she-cat drifted to sleep, and padded over to join Moontears, following his gaze to Pantherfang. She watched sadly.
"Rainfeather and Sparrowpaw, his mate and daughter, both dead," She whispered, her voice ringing like a song, sounded much like a requiem.
"I wish there was something I could do for him," she meowed with a sigh.

Jaystar's tail twitched at the mention of two of his fallen clan. As his eyes clouded over with emotion he lowered his head for a moment till it passed. They had always been in his heart, as one of his warriors and friends he knew that Pantherfang was going through a lot. Sudden thoughts of loosing Sunstorm passed through his mind making him shake with fear, his gaze locked onto her form just to assure himself she was still there. Her pelt rose and fell with her breathing, calming him as his breathing matched hers. Lifting to his paws he moved towards Moontears and Whitepaw, greeting them with a strained smile. "Is there anything you can do for him?" he muttered quietly, flicking his tail gently in pantherfang's direction.
Russettail sat on his own outside the warriors den, his head hung in shame and sorrow. He had done his best but it hadn't been enough, they were gone. His pelt ruffled slightly in the wind causing him to look up at the changed scent. Jaystar now sat with two others but he could care less. His gaze shifted slowly to Pantherfang's but he couldn't hold it, ever since the deaths he hadn't said a word to his friend, and now he didn't know how to start.

Phoenixpaw spotted her father looking sad and padded over. She curled up against him between his two front paws and gazed up. "I miss Sparrowpaw." she mewed sadly. "It could have been me that died...couldn't it? I don't know if I'm strong enough to do what Starclan wants, dad. I don't ever want to see those black cats again!" The tiny ember colored kit shuddered and snuggled closer to her father, burying her head in his fur for comfort.
Moontears felt his insides lurch. He could only try to imagine what that kind of loss must feel like. Moontears could start to feel some of Pantherfang's emotions swirl within him, and closed his eyes, overwhelmed. He was jolted out of his thoughts and feelings, however, by a new voice. He turned to look at this new cat, and could immediately sense an air of importance and pride about him. He could feel a great weight of responsibility and wariness that the tom carried. Instinctively, Moontears lowered his head and introduced himself. "I am Tears that Fall from the Moon. I have come here from the Tribe of Rushing Water because of a vision I have recieved." he hesitated a moment and then spoke again, "I would like to stay and be a healer an ancestral guide for you....if you'll have me." he requested humbly.

Mudleaf came back into the cmap after hunting. He wasn't as injured as the rest, so he'd gone hunting for the clan. A rabbit and two mice dropped into the fresh kill pile, which could be higher, could be lower. He sighed and went to check on the injured warriors, his insides churning with worry over the loss of cats. He was glad at least Whitepaw had been okay. He froze, seeing an intruder, and his hackles rose, then he calmed, noting Whitepaw with him, seeming very calm, though suspicion still stirred in his mind. "Whitepaw," he called. "How is Sunstorm? Is she doing any better?" Worry was in his voice.
