A cold Dawn patrol... **FINISHED**

[Magicheart]

Magicheart limped around the flank of the fox. She had gone after the back legs to distract it while Gingerstar had gone for the throat. Her front left paw was very bloody. "My claws were stuck in its leg when it twisted and fell. I lost a couple." she meowed, wincing as she put weight on the front paw. "Our strength is our teamwork, and it most certainly showed here today." Magicheart meowed, smiling at her clanmates.

Brackensmoke murmured in agreement.
"Crimsonheart," he mewed.

Crimsonheart turned and cocked her head to the right. "Brackensmoke?' she asked.

Gingerstar turned her attention to the rest of them. "Yes. And I thank you all for your hard work...Magicheart, you should let the medicine cat see to that...could you take them back to camp please?"

Lionfire and Littleflower heard their leader's commands as they were cleaning each other. Lionfire nuzzled his mate affectionately before turning to their leader's command and slightly limping over to Magicheart and sitting down next to her.
((they're mates, right? And also, if Gingerstar told you to go back with Magicheart, then you can go back to the "Hello?" thread in the ThunderClan camp unless you have something else to say...))

"When we return to camp, you ought to apologize to Starpaw. She was worried, you know."
He shook himself, ridding himself of the random leaf or two, getting ready to finish the patrol.

Gingerstar heard this and changed her mind. "You know, Crimsonheart, maybe just go back to camp...the rest of the patrol should be uneventful, StarClan willing."
Crimsonheart sagged but dipped her head and followed Magicheart. "Sorry about that...I just heard that Gingerstar was with a fox and..." she shrugged apologetically, her amber eyes on the ground. "Sorry Brackensmoke... I won't rush out like that again..." She turned towards Gingerstar and nodded again. "Yes, Gingerstar, I'll go back to camp..."
Without another word she followed Magicheart back to the ThunderClan camp.

Gingerstar sighed once they were left behind. "Crimsonheart would be one of the best warriors in the clan if she'd just calm down and think before she acts..." she said out loud.

Brackensmoke nodded. "She's trying, and with Crimsonheart being Crimsonheart," Brackensmoke chuckled softly, "she will succeed." He paused for a moment. "Shall I complete the patrol, Gingerstar?"

"I'll go with you," Gingerstar dipped her head and got up to follow Brackensmoke, having finished cleaning her scratches. "Crimsonheart is Crimsonheart..." she said, mostly to herself, and she followed.
The air stunk with the stench of dead fox, but Gingerstar paid no attention to it. She was only relieved that her clan was safe and there was no more risk...from the adult fox. She was on guard for more...maybe the big fox had kits or something.

OOC: Now what? Do we illustrate the patrol, or just start back in the camp?

IC: Brackensmoke cast a disliking glance towards the dead fox, then nodded.

Gingerstar saw no other reason to continue to the patrol, so she doubled back and led Brackensmoke down the now-worn path that led back to the ThunderClan camp.
"No reason to continue the patrol when there's nothing left," she explained, and led the way into the camp.
