Eclipsedstar stared at her, eyes brimming with sadness. "I had to lead the clan still, Blackheart...but I wasn't doing fine at all." he meowed. "My mother and sister had died two days before...I held the apprentice ceremony to give hope to the clan." he meowed with a sigh. "I wanted to go and look for you, but Trueeyes wouldn't let me. It would have been a disaster if I had abandoned the clan right after Lostclan attacked. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do." he meowed with a whimper. He glanced up at her with an intense gaze. "You're here now, and that's all that matters. I'll make sure that Lostclan never takes you from us again." he vowed. He pressed closer to her. "You were so brave." He whispered. "I couldn't be more proud of you."

Blackheart closed her eyes as he pressed up against her and she gave a light purr. It really did matter that she was here and safe. She took in his sweet sent and mewed, "I couldnt be more proud of you Eclipsedstar.. Your a wonderful leader and you havent giving up on your clan no matter what went wrong. You stood by them.." she pulled away and looked into his eyes and gave a smile. "You really are a true leader of Thunderclan Eclipsedstar, dont let anyone tell you otherwise.."

Eclipsedstar dipped his head. His head fluttered in happiness that Blackheart understood his duty to Shadowclan and that she was proud of him. He still couldn't believe that she loved him as much as he did her, and that she was back with him again. "Let me know if there's anything you need." he meowed. "If you'd feel more comfortable going on certain patrols, or if you'd like one of the apprentices when they become of age...I want you to feel like Shadowclan is your home again and that you're safe here." he murmured.

Blackheart gave a small smile and mewed, "Thank you Eclipsedstar, but I want you to worry about the clan then just me alone. The clan comes first. I will go on patrols I dont mind which ones just as long as I am with another cat I shall be okay and hopefully I will be able to do patrols on my own when I'm not afraid." She gave her leader a lick on the cheek and mewed, "I'll have an apperntice when I feel loke im ready.."

Eclipsedstar nodded and settled down next to her, enjoying her company. He stretched his jaws in a huge yawn, realizing for the first time today how exhausted he was from rebuilding the camp. He hadn't slept at all the night before. "I wish we could just stay like this forever." he murmured.

Blackheart looked down at her leader and gave him a soft lick between his ears and mewed, "I do too sweetheart.." She sat up and kept an eye out for anything odd but it all seemed well and fine. Just how the forest should be. She also gave a yawn and enjoyed feeling her mate pressed up against her and with her. She then turned to her leader gently started grooming him in soft but gentle strokes. She started with the back of his head and worked down to his back and then back up. It took some time but she liked her work to be perfect and worth while. Eclipsedstar did need a groom. Sadly he never had time for himself to make sure he was okay. When she was done she looked him over and smiled. He looked a lot better then before. She gave a purr and never felt more proud of herself. She then turned back out into the forest and then decided to lie down nexto him and get cozy. She nuzzled her face into her leaders flank and gave a little purr. She was happy she was home and with her leader. She wouldnt ask for anything more.
"when is the next gathering?" she asked quietly trying not to break the wonderful moment they were in. She then lifted her tail and played with his moving it up and down and intertwining it with hers.

Eclipsedstar drowsily opened his eyes. "Hmm?" he asked. He blinked a couple of times and glanced at the moon. "The moon is getting fuller. It looks like about 5 sunrises away." he meowed. He glanced over at her. "looking forward to seeing the other clans?" he asked.

Blackheart gave a shutter and really didnt know if she was. She wasnt even sure if she wanted to go. Why did she even ask if she didnt want to go? She looked up at the moon also with her mate and then mewed, "I was just wondering, I dont want you to be to stressed out about it when it comes along."

Eclipsedstar waved his bushy tail. "I think the other clans are having just as much trouble as we are with Lostclan." he meowed. "But I'm not sure how much they'll reveal. They're likely to keep to themselves. I would be surprised if the gathering lasted very long...though maybe the other leaders will want to work together? Who knows....they tend to be so stubborn." he sighed. "I don't think the clans divided can beat Lostclan..."

Blackhearts heart sped up once she heard him bring up lostclan. She gave a gulp and stayed silent. She tried to push that aside and mewed "I do have a feeling other clans are suffering just as much as we are sadly. Why cant starclan help us out for once?"

"Hmm..." Eclipsedstar nodded. He hadn't shared the dream Starclan had given him with anyone yet. Maybe, now was the time. "Starclan sent me a dream with a prophecy." he meowed carefully. "Shadowstar told me to "Find the Eight who are marked, two from each clan, and send them home."" Eclipsedstar shrugged his large shoulders. "Marked? Marked how? They never told me how I'm supposed to find which of my warriors to send. And send them home? They can't mean to the old clans' home! That is a long and dangerous journey, and the twolegs completely destroyed the forest! How could that help." he meowed, voicing his frustrations for the first time about his lack of understanding of the prophecy. "It doesn't make any sense to you, does it?" he asked Blackheart hopefully.

Blackheart listened carefully to her leader and nodded here and their. She also tried to figure out what the 'mark' meant. Blackheart looked at the ground and opened her mouth a bit to say something but thought before she did.
"Maybe the mark means.... something on their body or something crazy like that. Thats what I think when you said Mark. But I could be more then wrong. I dont get dreams. As for the journey... I.. could be to the old home I mean I made the journey.. yeah its hard and not easy but I got through it. to send your warriors... maybe you just have to wait and see what happends Eclipsedstar. Thats all you can do. They send you dreams for a reason and you know all you can do is wait for a sign. Thats all Leaders have ever done since starclan knows when. I'm sure starclan will let you know when they are ready to show you." she finished

Eclipsedstar nodded and sighed. "There is wisdom in what you say..." he mused as he got to his paws, "but I hate waiting. It seems like every day Lostclan gets more powerful." he meowed. The large black tabby's muscles rippled as he lengthened his body in a stretch. "We should get back to camp." he said resignedly. He twined his tail with Blackheart's and began to pad on towards the camp.
Halfway back to camp, Eclipsedstar's paw steps froze. Lying in front of him was the body of his newly appointed deputy, Orangeleaf. Blood poured out of a bite wound in her neck, and her eyes stared sightlessly up towards the sky. "Lostclan..." Eclipsedstar seethed. He unsheathed his long claws into the soil, trying to control his rage and his sadness. Not one of his three deputies had survived longer than 5 moons. He opened his jaws angry and mournful yowl, his roar echoing throughout the dark pine forest.

Blackheart got up and padded next to her leader with her tail with his. All seemed to be going well till her eyes widened with what she saw. She quickly looked to her leader who gave out a loud cry and blackheart couldnt help but bite her lip and try not to cry. Why see death now Its only been a few days since she had been back and now more death. She felt her heart pound when he said Lostclan and she didnt want to believe it. She padded up to her deputy who she didnt know very long, but was still a big part of the clan. She gave a sniff of the body and found he was right. It was lostclan.. they have been here. Her eyes then shot to the camp and couldnt help but race away home. hoping they werent their. Was this death because of her? Did they do this because they knew she was back? Maybe she wasnt safe anymore... what if the next cat dead would be.. her?
