Before he had known it, the two had fallen asleep again. Silvervolt awake with a start when a cool breeze ruffled his pelt. "Oh no, Heartbreaker we fell asleep agai--" Silvervolt jumped to his paws. Where was Heartbreaker? A chill crept through his body and seized his heart. Had she left him here as a joke? Was she just waiting at camp? He tried to fight the panic he was feeling. He picked up her scent on the breeze and ran off to find her. No...not at camp! he thought. What could have made her leave without telling me? his paws began to thunder as fast as his heart as he streaked off around the edge of the lake after his mate.
