Cloudrain closed her eyes, her ears flattening against her head. The stardust around her scattered with the lashing of her tail. She could feel Sunstorm's despair as though it were her own. "Oh, my little one..." she mewed softly. "To lose love this young..." she shook her head. She turned to the silhouette of Jaystar that was quickly thickening and filling as each life was lost, one by one.
"Welcome Jaystar..." Cloudrain greeted the fallen leader. "I never thought I'd meet you again so soon," she meowed gravely.

The Windclan leader broke down and wept, stardust streaming from his eyes. "I can't be here" he cried. "My clan will die...I never got to tell Sunstorm how much I loved her...I couldn't say ANYTHING!" he shouted. "Not even one life could give me the words I needed!" he yelled even louder, his sides heaving.

Cloudrain's eyes were deep with sorrow. The white and black queen shook her head sadly.
"I never got to tell her I loved her either, Jaystar. Neither did her mentor, Robinflight, or all those that she knew that have died. She never even got to say goodbye to her own apprentice. You must understand Jaystar. Why should we say goodbye? We will always see each other again eventually. You are her love and her leader. And soon, you will be her life, just as I will," she spoke the truth that all StarClan cats knew.
"She will be a great leader, filled with the fiery passion that earned her her warrior name. A new star will rise over WindClan, a star glorious and beautiful and as bright as the very sun. Weep no tears, for eventually, she will rejoin you in StarClan," she added.
"You will always be in her heart. And it is possible that your death will give her the strength to end the threat of LostClan."

Jaystar hung his head in defeat. "I know it was wrong. I know that we were never supposed to be in love...but I wanted to be....so badly." he sighed. "I wanted to have a true mate." he glanced up at Cloudrain. He had died a very young tom, and an extremely young leader, losing all of his remaining eight lives at once. "How can I face her as...this? Just a mere shadow of what I was?" he asked in guilt, staring down at his starry and transparent paws.

"You must face her my dear friend and former leader," Cloudrain said, wrapping herself around him.
"You must face her, for you are obligated as her former leader to present her with her final life. Into it you may pour all your love for her, and she will understand everything. She will find much hidden meaning in her trip to the Moonpool. She will rise to be a glorious star for WindClan, who are the closest to StarClan in body and spirit. She will be needed, now more than ever, for the forest to survive. So, we must give her all the strength and support we can when she comes to greet us," Cloudrain spoke, her voice soft, like a nameless melody that drifts through the world, always in the hearts of others, a tune that you know but can't recall where you heard it.

Jaystar sighed. "I just feel like such a failure." He closed his eyes as the older starclanner wrapped around him, and felt his spirit and confidence strengthen. For a moment, he could feel the wind run through his fur, and the grass dance around his feet. He could see the blue of the sky and the bright clouds passing over his head. He had to help save this forest- he would do all that he could from the skies. "Ok." he meowed. "I'm ready...but it's not going to be easy. I just hope I can be strong enough for her." he added self consciously.

"Sometimes inner strength can be hard to find," Cloudrain agreed. Silverstream appeared, her glory and beauty naturally complimenting the stardust all around. She turned her eyes to Jaystar, and they were overwhelmed by grief.
"It would seem that LostClan are capable of anything..." she commented, her tail thrashing in anger, scattering the dust all around. "Don't lose face, Jaystar. The Eight are returning. Already, Inkpaw has stepped forward and claimed Hiddenpaw's spot. It is quite fitting that he and his sister should make the journey together," Silverstream eyes lit up with hope, trying to encourage them.
"Blazepaw too, has replaced Fishpaw. New heroes. It's sad that those young cats died at all, but it would seem that not all is lost," She added. Cloudrain's ears perked. "This is true?" she whispered. Silverstream nodded.

Moonpaw, a young apprentice from long ago appeared. "I am here" he meowed. Jaystar squinted at the young tom, trying to recognize him. "I remember you." he said softly. Moonpaw nodded. "I was Pantherfang's apprentice. I was killed the first time Lostclan attacked the forest." he replied. "right before I got to be a warrior..." he added grudgingly.
Rainfeather and Sparrowpaw also materialized in the sky beside him. "Moonpaw!" Rainfeather meowed happily. "I've missed you! So has Pantherfang..." she trailed off, looking away ashamed. Moonpaw looked equally surprised to see Rainfeather.

Another pair of cats appeared out of the darkness.
"Robinflight," Cloudrain dipped her head. The calico tom had once been Sunstorm's mentor. A small ginger furred tom appeared next to him. "Foxpaw..." the black and white she-cat sighed, her ears flattening. "Sunstorm misses you," she looked at him, and he nodded, his eyes sad. Icetail, too, came. WindClan's old deputy, and one of the old Eight.
"You are all gathering to make Sunstorm the leader of WindClan," Silverstream smiled. Already her nine lives had appeared. She remembered when she had given her life to Firestar all those seasons ago.
((now we have Sunstorm's nine lives ready))

(Awesome) Rainfeather kept Sparrowpaw close to her side. "Will Windclan survive? We have lost one of our two of the eight, and I worry about the strength of Sunstorm and Pantherfang." she meowed in agony.

"Pantherfang I think, has found his way again..." Cloudrain spoke up again.
"As for Sunstorm... she would never forsake her Clan. She has always fought to prove herself because she wasn't born into WindClan," she added, and several of the cats gathered nodded.
"She was a brave student, mentor, warrior, and deputy. And now she will be a brave leader. She and Pantherfang know each other's loss. I think... they will support each other."
((Gosh... Cloudrain sure loves to talk doesn't she? xD))

Rainfeather nodded, but something made her feel uneasy. Cloudrain seemed to be choosing her words carefully. Did she know something that she didn't? But there was no time for that now.
"Wow. Both Shadowclan and Riverclan in Windclan in such a short period of time." Moonpaw meowed. "We could never get the clans to interact half as much last time. Everyone was so worried about themselves." he added.

"Times have changed, Moonpaw. The Clans are realizing the threat of LostCLan, and some know they must badn together to stop them," Cloudrain said.
"I didn't think Silvervolt would actually go to WindClan's aid... it seems the resentment he felt over Littlewing's death ahs finally begun to ebb," Silverstream meowed quietly, mostly to herself.

Rainfeather sighed. "Will my clan survive this?" she wondered aloud.

"If WindClan does not survive, all the Clans will fall, and our doom will be sealed. Even we, StarClan, may fall from the very heavens, should our progeny fail. It is up to them now. We are doing all we can to guide them, but they must stand on their own as well," Silverstream meowed, thinking warily of the future. But then she spied her grandson down in RiverClan. So... he was finally becoming a warrior.
