It was unlike RiverClan to be late, seeing as they lived nearest to the Island. Sunstar's tail twitched nervously- could something have happened to delay them?
She glanced at her warriors who had come with her, but her gaze rested longest upon Pantherfang. She quickly realized she was almost staring at him, and blinked, swiftly turning her head back to the path in front of her, giving a graceful hop up to the fallen tree that created the bridge to the Island, picking her way carefully across it.
The Island was eerily quiet except for the soft rustle of prey. Sunstar stood at the foot of the tree where the leaders sat, waiting for the other Clans to arrive.

Pantherfang sat quietly near the roots of the leader's tree, his pelt melting into the darkness. He fixed his green gaze on Sunstar just as she looked away from him. She would be presenting herself to the other clans as Windclan's new leader tonight. Pantherfang knew the other clans would accept her with enthusiasm and mourn for the loss of Jaystar as his clanmates had. His whiskers twitched anxiously as he awaited the arrival of Shadowclan, led by his son, Eclipsedstar. He felt the familiar ache of wishing that his son could have stayed with him in Windclan, even though he couldn't be more proud of the path his paws took him as the young leader of Shadowclan.
Pantherfang padded closer to the roots of the tree and gazed up at Sunstar. "Will we agree to work with the other clans to drive out Lostclan?" he asked.
Moontears sat with Whitepaw near a large boulder a few foxlengths from the leader's tree. His blue eyes twinkled with anticipation of meeting the other medicine cats.

She let her thoughts wander along with her eyes, deciding.
"I believe it is the only way. But whether or not the other leaders will agree with me remains to be seen," Sunstar meowed, looking down at Pantherfang again. "Don't worry about Eclipsedstar too much. He'll be here. ShadowClan has always been too stubborn to miss a Gathering," she smiled, trying to reassure him.
Whitepaw took her place beside Moontears and sighed, wondering what was keeping the other Clans. She was also excited and nervous. This was her first Gathering, and Moontears' as well. Not only that, it was Sunstar's first Gathering as leader of WindClan. Would she be well received by the other Clans?

Blackheart padded in after her leader and keeping to herself. She padded over to a near by tree and sat down and just watched. How she missed these gatherings and seeing other cats then her own clan. She watched her leader take his place and she then let her gaze go back to the other cats around her. She let out a breath and shifted her paws and in a way she wished she wasnt here..
Wickedstar padded into the clearing with her clan behind her and she took her place quickly next to the other leaders and she bowed her head and mewed, "I hope all is well with you all and your homes. Cant wait to hear what good news you bring to this gathering."

Eclipsedstar's paws thrummed against the ground as he jogged into the clearing leading Shadowclan, with Blackheart by his side. She suddenly raced in front of him. He normally would have been irritated, but he figured that Blackheart must just be excited to be at her first gathering since she came home. The huge black tom padded over to the tree and glanced up, surprised to see another Windclan cat in place of Jaystar. What was her name? he thought to himself, agonized that her name was right on the tip of his tongue, but he couldn't think of it. It suddenly occurred to him that this cat may be here because Jaystar was dead.
The thought almost made him falter as he sailed into the air and landed heavily on the tree root beside the lithe Windclan she-cat. He was a young leader, Eclipsedstar thought. He should have had many moons left... Eclipsedstar hoped that Jaystar had sent another cat in his stead, but when he saw how tired and grief-stricken the fiery-pelted cat looked, he had little hope for that. He felt a jolt of fear as he glanced desperately around the clearing, searching for a particular cat. He finally discerned the jet-black coat of his muscular father and relaxed. He blends into the night so well the young Shadowclan leader thought with irritation because he had been so nervous.
Pantherfang's eyes glowed with pride as his son padded through the clearing and leaped into the tree beside Sunstar. Eclipsedstar looked tired, but he also looked healthy still and it brought Pantherfang great relief to see him looking so well.
Silvervolt walked slowly into the clearing, trying not to limp. The wound in his leg from the fox fight was smarting, but he would die before show weakness in front of the other clans. Especially Windclan. He let out a scowl as he passed the two Windclan medicine cats and sat in the corner. He looked up to see angry green slits staring at him, and noticed that Pantherfang was giving him a warning glance. Silvervolt gave an arrogant sniff and bent down to lick his leg wound.
Dreampaw bounded into the clearing, vibrant with energy from attending his first gathering. "Wow, look at all the cats!" he breathed in disbelief.

Spiritstar led her clan into the clearing, turning to look back at them with a smile. Magicheart, her black and white fur standing out against Firetail's brazen pelt. Two silver bodies, Icecrystal's and Moonripple strode forward. The apprentices, Inkpaw Starpaw, and Spottedpaw were near their mentors. She was proud of this clan, but moreso then that she hoped her idea for an alliance against Lostclan did not go unheard. Even one clan would be better than nothing.

Willowleaf stayed behind her leader with reserve in her step until they were on the Island. She nodded at her Clanmates and took her place with the other medicine cats.
"Greetings... Moontears, was it? I trust you will teach Whitepaw well. She has a beautiful heart and an unusual connection to StarClan," she smiled gently at Moontears, and then looked down at Whitepaw, who was taken aback by the praise she had just received.
"Th-thank you, Willowleaf," Whitepaw stammered. The cream and silver she-cat purred in amusement.
Fernpaw stayed close to Dreampaw, slightly nervous for all the confidence and energy she usually boasted. "It's amazing..." she murmured, exasperated to see so many cats in one place.
Inkpaw kept his eye out for both Phoenixpaw and Rockfang, but saw neither, and tried to hide his disappointment when he found neither. He sighed, and ran to catch up with Spottedpaw, who was joining the group of apprentices from the other Clan.
"Hi, I'm Inkpaw," he greeted the two RiverClan apprentices.
"Well met. I'm Fernpaw, and this is Dreampaw," the calico she-cat seemed unfazed by Inkpaw's scars, which made Inkpaw wonder about her character.
"And I'm Spottedpaw," the other ThunderClan apprentice jumped right in. It was nice to talk to other cats their own age... there were so few apprentices in ThunderClan.
"Hey, it looks like the Gathering is about to start, now that all the leaders are here," Moonripple's meow hushed the apprentices, who turned their attention to the great tree, where all four leaders now sat, each claiming their own branch. Sunstar had humbly taken the lowest branch, being the newest leader at the Gathering, and the youngest as well.

Magicheart shared her son's disappointment when she didn't see Phoenixpaw, or her mate, Russettail, from Windclan. She padded over to Pantherfang to exchange words with him.
Dreampaw gazed at Inkpaw in awe. "Wow, did you get those scars from a battle? I haven't even learned how to hunt yet!" the apprentice chatted excitedly.
Moontears blinked in surprise and dipped his head respectfully to Willowleaf. "I will look forward to traveling with you to the Moonpool at the halfmoon." he meowed. "And then I can be officially accepted by Starclan. Whitepaw is a gifted apprentice. She learns quickly." he agreed. "We have much we can teach one another, tribe and clan. Are your herbs well stocked?" he questioned.
Firetail stayed close to his leader, Spiritstar. "The other clans look like they've been struggling too." he whispered to his leader. Many cats from all different clans bore wounds that weren't completely healed. Hope flared in his chest about getting the kits back. The other clans would be more likely to work together if they were experiencing trouble.

Spiritstar nodded. "I agree, we should be able to start an alliance." She told Firetail, before respectfully padded up to the other clan leaders. She greeted Eclipsedstar with a smile and respectful nod. She liked the Shadowclan leader, even if she would never question her loyalties. "How is everyone tonight?" She asked kindly, turning to smile at Wickedstar and Sunstar as well.

Wickedstar turned her head to the Thunderclan leader and mewed, "I am doing well thank you, I hope you are doing well also. We should be starting the gathering soon.."
Blackheart stayed where she was and just watched. She wished she could be by her leader but he was always a different type of cat when it came to gatherings. She looked up at the sky and saw that it was clear, for now. Why did Eclipsedstar make her come? She bit her lip and let her eyes go back to the leaders. She strained her ears forward hopeing she could hear what they were saying but no luck. Shouldnt they be starting soon? Shifting her paws she looked around at cats talking and laughing and apprentices chatting up a storm.

Eclipsedstar nodded back at Spiritstar, flexing his shoulders as he maintained his balance on one of the lower tree roots. Of all the other leaders, Eclipsedstar felt the most comfortable around Spiritstar. They were both the younger of the four leaders, and weren't pure-blooded within their own clans. "Shadowclan has suffered some losses, but we keep our warrior spirit." he meowed in response to the Thunderclan leader's greeting.
The large Shadowclan leader began to grow anxious, thinking about Timbermoon and his small group of warriors left defending the camp when his deputy had just been murdered. Another ambush or attack could likely happen. So, while he would usually wait for one of the older leaders to begin the gathering, this time he stepped forward and let out a deep yowl.
"Cats of all clans!" Eclipsedstar began, getting the attention of the cats below. "Tonight, we have come, as is customary, to the island in the lake to share tongues and news in peace under Silverpelt and the full moon. But tonight is a gathering like any other. I, Eclipsedstar of Shadowclan, come before the other clan leaders and lay aside the secracy and guardedness that usually comes with sharing clan news. Shadowclan has been wronged, and we are angry!" The huge black tabby suddenly looked even larger and more frightening as he leaned over the cats in the gathering, the treeroot shaking under his weight.
"We can't ignore the sickness that is plaguing the forest any longer. Lostclan runs loose in the forest with no warrior code of honor. They are shameless thieves, killing and stealing whenever our backs are turned." He snarled, his eyes blazing with fiery anger. Magicheart let out a yowl of agreement, thinking of how Lostclan had taken the life of one of her daughters and her son's eye. "Tonight, Shadowclan grieves for the loss of Orangeleaf, who was killed by Lostclan cats only one moon after becoming deputy." Eclipsedstar hissed, his large tail lashing in fury.
Firetail hung his head in grief with several other cats in the clearing. Orangeleaf had been a loyal warrior. She had the typical fiesty and secretive Shadowclan attitude, but was a good cat nonetheless, and would have served Shadowclan for a long time without the interference of Lostclan.
"If Lostclan thinks that they are getting away without a challenge, they're wrong! We have reinforced our camp to make it stronger, and I am proud to present Cinderheart as Shadowclan's new deputy!" Eclipsedstar howled, giving a proud nod to Cinderheart. "We shall not lose our warrior spirit!" The Shadowclan leader concluded in a fierce and determined tone. Trueeyes cried out in agreement as Eclipsedstar sat back down and nodded to the other clan leaders.

Wickedstar sat and waited for her turn and narrowed her eyes. Lostclan never became a problem for her clan. Why does shadowclan have an issue with them? All has been silent in Riverclan, no sent of Lostclan at all in her forest. The only issue they had was foxes. She let the tip of her tail move back and foreth. Apparently Shadowclan has done something to Lostclan to make those dirty cats what to give Eclipsedstar and his clan a hard time. She saw the other cats cry out in agreement but she sat still and listened. Thinking deeply about what the shadowclan leader had said.
Blackheart shook her head slowly and wished she could cry out to her leader asking what he was going to get into. Yet she stayed where she was and listened. She didnt like seeing Eclipsedstar this way. Did he know what he was getting into? Seeing the cats agree she herself couldnt. She took in a deep breath and wanted to slap her leader across the face but she stayed still. She ranked her claws into the ground and forced herself to listen about lostclan and about what they had been doing. She gave a low growl to herself and couldnt believe what she was hearing. She gave a glance to her new deputy just appointed and thought, How long are you gonna last till they kill you too? She looked away and back up at the leaders. She gave a glance at Wickedstar and noticed she had no expression on her face. She was just looking at her leader talk and not making any moves. Blackheart tilted her head to one side and was shocked that the riverclan leader was not agreeing. She narrowed her eyes up at the leaders and looked at each one but her own leader. She could feel her heart racing and was ready to get up and leave the gathering. If more talk came of lostclan she would be heading home.
Wickedstar padded up to the branch and mewed, "Riverclan has been well, food is getting harder to get let alone find but we are staying strong. We had a few foxes on our territory that Silvervolt ever so bravely fought off along with another warrior who is not able to make it to the gathering tonight. Our clan couldnt be more proud of them." she gave a pause and mewed, "Lostclan shockingly has not been any trouble to us Riverclaners I am suprised that they have stepped paw on your territory Eclipsedstar it makes me ponder why they are after you and your clan. I am very sorry for the loss of your deputy but yet again congrates to Cinderheart, I am sure you have made the right choice on picking her. Seeing Lostclan has been on your land Riverclan will be on our toes as well making sure they do not come near us. If of course they do my clan will fight till they are surely to never step another paw on Riverclan."
Blackheart narrowed her eyes at the riverclan leader and shook her head. You moron you cant just fight them and think you will win! One clan alone is not gonna keep them off your land! Why are you so mouse brained!? she yelled in her head but keeping a calm face. She felt the hair rise on her neck and her blood pumping faster then ever. She glanced over at her leader then back at Wickedstar who seemed to think that her clan was out of the danger Lostclan could do to them. She dug her claws deeper into the dirt and lashed her tail. No one knew what they were gonna be up against but only her. They dont know her story and apparently Eclipsedstar could care less about it.
Wickedstar gave her nodd, stepped back and took her place and waited for another leader to step forward to speak.

A grey she-cat padded in after her leader. Cinderheart looked around the clearing, noting all the mingling cats from the clans. She smiled and said greetings to a few cats in passing. She finally made it to her place at the bottom of the tree. She sat between the roots and curled her tail over her paws. The ShadowClan deputy waited patiently for the gathering to begin.

Spiritsong kept her face masked with grief for the news of the loss of the deputy, but she knew this was also a bit of good. At least Shadowclan would have reason to unite. They had every bit as much hatred towards Lostclan as Thunderclan now. However, she maintained her seat, deferring to Sunstar to go first. She'd rather speak last, after she heard Sunstar's news.
((Sorry, I know I've been short lately, Bit of trouble elsewhere...))

Eclipsedstar flicked his ears at Wickedstar's news, trying to hide his complete shock and disbelief. Riverclan was having no trouble with Lostclan at all? How was that even possible? Was his clan being specifically targeted? Did Lostclan think he was particularly weak? The Shadowclan leader was overwhelmed with indignant thoughts, and very eager to hear of what Windclan and Thunderclan would say. He knew that Windclan was having trouble too. He had gone there to help his father bury his mother and sister after a Lostclan raid on the camp.
Why has Riverclan remained unscathed? Why are you favoring them, Starclan? Eclipsedstar's eyes dulled with confusion and feelings of betrayal.
Trueeyes narrowed his eyes at the Riverclan leader. Is she lying to make her clan look stronger? he wondered. But if she was, Trueeyes couldn't tell. Her eyes betrayed no lack of sincerity.
Dreampaw glanced proudly at his leader. Those mange-pelts would never mess with Riverclan! he thought proudly, puffing out his chest. "Lostclan's too afraid to attack us!" he boasted to the other apprentices.
