Phoenixpaw paced around in agitation, flicking the tip of her tail. Why hadn't she been invited to the gathering? She needed to find the other marked cats! Phoenixpaw sighed.
An idea struck her that made her paws tingle with mischief. What if none of the other marked cats were at the gathering? she thought. Phoenixpaw twitched her whiskers. She could go to Thunderclan and see her brother, Inkpaw, or to Riverclan to see Rockfang....
Phoenixpaw's paws tingled in a different way that she didn't understand. We need to find out who the cats are in Shadowclan! That's the only clan we don't know any marked cats in! Phoenixpaw thought desperately.
Maybe it's time to sneak out of camp...
