Heartbreaker padded through her territory and saw that everything seemed fine. Silvervolt was still asleep when she woke up so she let him rest. She promised herself she wouldnt be gone long and to be back before he woke up. He was always on her mind. Yet she loved it when he was. For being a stubborn cat she was shocked he was able to put up with her. Let alone, start a family with her.
She padded on and saw the sun rising over the trees with a cool breeze that blew past her. She was just about to head back when she heard a russtle and a smell she never loved. A ornage fox came out of the bushes and looked right at Heartbreaker. She let her claws out and then saw she had cubs! Her eyes widened and then heard a twig snap behind her and saw another fox. Her ears flattned against her head and she backed up walked herself up against a tree. She gave a growl and so did they. They looked hungry. The cubs were sitting and watching and Heartbreaker was their food.. She gave gulp ad wondered over and over if she could fih two foxes off at once. Her heart pounded hard against her chest and she then saw one of the foxes get closer and with that she took her claw and slashed its muzzle..

"Heartbreaker!" Silvervolt cried, his tracking senses becoming poorer and poorer as he became more frantic to find his mate. He had to curse and slow down to pick up the scent over and over. "Where are you?" he called out. The smell of fox hit his nostrils and a wave of fear almost overtook him entirely. Never before had he felt something so crippling. Never before had he been afraid to lose something in a battle.

Heartbreaker scooted back yet seeing she could go any where. She heard her name bing called and one of the foxes looked back but then turned its attention back onto her. Heartbreaker heard her name and mewed, "Silvervolt!" she yelled. With that a fox lunged at Heartbreaker and she dodged it but then the other was able to jump and grab her shoulder and bring her down. She gave a cry and had her ears flat back against her head and her claws out. The fox still had her grabbed by the shoulder and the other one bit her leg. She gave a cry of pain and couldnt help but ave tears come to her eyes. She kicked the one on her leg and was able to by some time.

Silvervolt streaked towards the sound of his mate in a meteoric flash. Fangs barred, claws unsheathed, he barreled onto the scene, his usual calm in battle leaving him completely. The adrenaline coursed through him, and he felt all rational thought go away. "Back away from her!" he snarled. Two foxes with cubs? How did you get yourself into this mess? he thought to himself. "Heartbreaker! I'll distract them...see if you can make your way up a tree!" he called out, pacing around the foxes.

ooc: you can have a fox and I can have the other if you want or you can have both its up toy ou, i dont care
Heartbreaker heard her mate come to her help and she couldnt help but smile. She then saw the foxes back away from her and she was able to sit up, yet blood came from all sides of her body. Her heart pounded hard and when she heard silvervot tell her to go up a tree, she looked at it and then looked back at her mate and got to her feet struggling a bit. "Are you crazy?! One I can not get up that tree like this and two I am not letting you battle these stupid animals by yourself!" She gave a hiss at one of the foxes and it gave her a hiss back. She then looked around and mewed, "Careful, their cubs are to your right of you.." She gave them a quick look and heard the other fox growl at her. Heartbreaker could feel the pain in her shoulder and leg. Yet she had to stay strong..

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,428,true] | [atrb=background,http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af16/dwplimg/NAXXTBBG.png]Compaired to a cat, he was a giant, weighing almost at 60 pounds, sleek with muscle, and black tipped brown fur that rippled through his shoulders to settle smoothly along his back. Sun-kissed brown eyes glared forth through the shadows as the scent of his primary source of food grew stronger, an irresistable impulse in his gut and in his mind overcame the usually composed wolverine, and Naiji was not one to triffle with. He was calm, but when provoked, he could very well be a ferocious opponent... jut ask all the dogs that he killed.
His search for food had lead him here; the clearing that had made itself into a make-shift road for the twoleggers and beasts of all kinds, aside from it's original purpose, it was a great place to hunt, there weren't as many obsticals one needed to consider when chasing their pray, there weren't any traps, and there weren't any surprises. His nostrals and ears mapped out the area that his eyes couldn't, and as he trudged through the foliage, his widdened spread pads silencing his approach, his ears errect, his nostrals flaring, his black lips running with thin lines of saliva as his shoulders flexed, black tipped brown fur moving with the wind which blew at his 12 o'clock as he took in the scents that came to him, there were definately foxes here, however, among them was something else... amonia, which he was able to distinguish as the urine of feline, aswell as blood.
It would seem that the entire food chain had come to play today, he would get his meal, and he would save a life or two at the same time, hell, if he was in the moond, he'd probably share... it wasn't like he had a family to feed anymore.
With dire interest, he licked his chops, relishing the thought of chewy fox in the morning, his claws semi-errected to four inches as once again he prowled through the shadows, his sleek yet bulging form passing through the bushes in a stealthy approach as his eyes adjusted to the lighting, focusing in on the blures until they zeroed in on the site, watching the chaos unfold before him.
He definately right about the foxes, and it wasn't just one, it was an entire skulk! Already he imagined himself eating till he couldn't move, laying on his back with a bulging belly and enough to spare for a day or two. Looking slightly to the left, he made out the cats, one male and a female, the male fighting to keep his mate safe, while the female -who lay wounded and bleeding, pleaded for him not to be a hero... either way, Naiji'Naxxaramous knew that if he didn't do something, they'd both be dead at the end of five minutes. Foxes were crafty, even he knew that, but with the cats here, he had the upper hand, -they were too focused on the cats to even notice the real threat, -that being himself.
With a smirk, he stepped back, contemplating his actions, his approach... he'd go for the stronger of the foxes, which in his mind -there was no doubt that it would be the male, -then, when the male was out of commission, he'd go for the female, and then the kits.
When the male cat, 'Silvervolt' as he was dubbed by the female, broke into a sprint to the lure the foxes from the female, that set things in motion, he rose his hindlegs, placing them just before his belly, the blured motions of cat legs, running across his field of view, a shadow came forth, then the bolt of brown and red... things slowed down for the wolverine as he watched the male come into his kill-cone, his forelegs ready, six inch razor claws fully errect and ready for the deep plunge, there was nothing... no sound... just the steady thunder of a heart beat as the male fox suddenly turned his head in his direction, realizing what he had just been lead into.
And with a roar at the force of an atomic bomb, the bushes exploded open, a blur of dark fur, white fangs, and claws as he used his right foreleg to wrap around the foxes throat, and his left -curved inward to pin against the side of the fox's head, with a screach, the fox tried to leap back in evasion, but once the force hit him, it was too late, he was stunned at the speed of the attack, thrown off his four paws and pinned to the ground underneath sixty pounds of sheer strength as Naxx snarled with fangs that flashed through the sunlight and lurched forward to burry themselves deep into the foxs throat as he began to panic in his survival instict, legs flailing out violently as Naxx felt warm blood boil through his veins, removing his hold by his legs, Naxx stood, straightening himself out and with a snarl that tore from his gut, he twisted with his neck the resounding crunch of the foxe's neck bone snapping in half pleasant in his ears as the foxe's legs began to twitch, blood running from his nose as the fox gargled his last breath, his mouth parted as a steady flow of bubbling blood ran out of the corner of his mouth, the fox dragged on his back, hindleg and foreleg twitching into the shadows, before he stood, gazing deeply -yet assuringly into the injured cat's eyes, with a friendly wag of his tail, he turned to the right, his each step brought a violent huff from his chest as he moved with a blured gait that pushed everything aside, his vision narrowing before him, radial blurs focusing in on the rear end of the unaware vixen before him.

"We're going to have to run for it! We'll never be able to take them!" he meowed, fire burning in his lungs as he attempted to dodge attack after attack. His shoulder was bleeding where he had been bit. Silvervolt could feel the energy leaving him. He was going to die here. He just hoped that somehow, Heartbreaker would be able to escape. The foxes suddenly froze moments before an enormous dark form burst into the scene and lunged. Silvervolt stared dumbfounded as the male was quickly ended by the wolverine. He leapt in front of Heartbreaker, quite sure that they would never leave this place.
The female fox turned her head in the direction of her dead mate, her eyes filled with hatred and fear as she gazed at her kits and tried to determine whether to fight or run.
Silvervolt gazed at Heartbreaker with wide, sad and frightened eyes. "I love you and I'm sorry." he meowed softly, his voice filled with pain. He turned back to the wolverine and fox mother, unsure of what was going to happen next. "If the wolverine goes after the other fox, we might have a chance if we run for it." he meowed, bracing himself. He knew they could never outrun the wolverine, but it was the only chance they had.

Heartbreaker was schocked seeing a wolverine come into this whole picture! Her eyes widened and she scooted closer to her mate. She watched the battle and saw the male fox die infront of her. Her heart pounded against her chest and she looked up at her mate with her ears flat aginst her head. She then saw her mate jump infront of her and she didnt know what to do.
She saw silvervolt look at her and she shook her head. Now she was scared. Tears came to her eyes and she couldnt move. Her paws felt like they were stuck to the ground. "I'm scared.." she mewed. Her shoulder and back leg were still bleeding and she knew she wouldnt make it very fast if they were to get out of here.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,428,true] | [atrb=background,http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af16/dwplimg/NAXXTBBG.png]There was a moment of stillness as blood dripped from his dog-like lips, his claws errected full length as they clung to the leaves blow, sutdying the cats, their wounds and then vixen before him. He had killed her mate, he wouldn't hesitate with the female, even if she did have kits that needed to be fed, but then again, he needed to feed himself to... that was life.
His dark eyes glared down at the fox, the blood of her mate smeared along his furred chest as he took in several breaths, ready to lunge, his target wasn't the cats, no... it was the fox.
Without warning he adjusted the weight on his paws, bounded to the right -the fox's left, and leaped at her throat, fangs parted with thin lines of saliva as he darted forth like a bolt of lightning from the leaves, which showered behind him as he brought his fangs down into the red and white fur, the vixen's squeal of agaony as the speed and daring of the strike whirled her senses as he picked her up and shook her violently in the air, before slamming her on her back on the ground, specks of blood collected along the sides of his mouth, the vixen's mouth parted, gasping breaths rumbling up a dry throat as Naxx placed one of his paws down on the pounding chest of the fox, he could feel her heart beat, every breath she took, before he placed more weight down upon it, bringing his claws deep into her chest -securing her position still as he released his grap and reached around, grabbing her by the soft underthroat, eyes squinted as he twisted his own neck to the rear before jerking it in reverse with a robust movement with his shoulders, the resounding crunch of her veterbrae cracking as he fured an ear of approval, the threats were done.
He released his victim to collapse lifeless along the side of the tree line, looking at the two cats with a friendly wag of his tail, his own blood boiling, giving the radiance of a threat as he looked down at his shoulder, where one of the fox's claws had glided straight through, laying it open as his own blood glided over his black-tipped brown fur,
He looked at the cats as the thick blood ran from his fangs, and his nostrals, dripping to the moist soil below, noticing their wounds aswell. There was nothing he could for them, he wasn't a cat, had no knowledge as to what the medicine cats did, and as much as he hated to admit it, he once had a relationship like they did as well. He once had a consort, one he loved, with a family of his own, he once bled, and nearly died for them, and then... the dogs took that all away.
It was no more than a week ago, secretly, he was still mourning the loss of their lives, secretly, he blamed himself for not being there, but it was there in his eyes, plainly read in the manner of a message that could be read just as any other book. He hated the world that he was living in, hated those who lived in the world with him, hated the dogs, hated the foxes, hated the whole goddamned world, but he had one thing left... and that was his anger, and he wasn't so easily ready to give that up yet.
"You two are lucky..." he said with a rough and hoarse tone as he placed his paws on the earth once more.
"...lucky to have eachother." he left the words at that, and as he stood, he felt the burning along his sinuses and his eyes as he half-way closed them in his own seclusion, seeing her face once more... her smile, her featurs... before another flash he saw her body, surrounded in dark splotches of coagulated blood, her body torn to pieces, skull caved in from where it had been smashed along the rocks, and with her body, was his children, his own kits, they too had been murdered by the dogs, -they too, lives that had been forgotten; a tear ran down his eyes as he took picked up the female fox, his meal for the day; by her underthroat, dragging her to the clearing to leave the cats be. -His first meal alone.

Silvervolt scooted closer to Heartbreaker after she said she was scared and wrapped her tail around him. "I'll always be with you...you know that, right? When I tell you to, run as fast as you can, ok?" He glanced at her intently and lovingly, and in his gaze, for the first time in his life, he fully exposed his emotions, his personality, everything. He glanced wearily at the wolverine as it quickly ended the life of the female fox. He hadn't expected it to end so quickly. He never got a chance to tell Heartbreaker to run- there was no struggle between the two large animals to make a long enough diversion.
He glanced at the wolverine in surprise when he spoke. "You two are lucky"... Silvervolt felt his muscles relax...was this animal a friend? He glanced at Heartbreaker, feeling the words of the wolverine. Silvervolt watched as the large animal closed his eyes, remembering. He could feel the wolverine's pain flowing off of him in waves so powerful it nearly bowled him over. "We owe you a great debt of thanks." Silvervolt began, bowing his head. "Where do you come from? What brings you to the forest?" he asked curiously.

Heartbreaker flattened her ears when she heard that he wanted her to run when he told her to. She shook her head but didnt say anything. She then looked to the other animal and saw him kill off the female fox. Her heart stopped and moved closer to her mate.
She looked up at him when he told the wolverine that they owed him. She gave him a push and whispered, "you have got to be kidding!" When he didnt reply and went on she knew it was probably true. She was curious also as to why this big mammal was out in their territory. It did seem friendly but really all she wanted right now was to be close to silvervolt and feel his protection and love. She staill stayed close to him but carefully listened to what he was saying and also the new comer..

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,428,true] | [atrb=background,http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af16/dwplimg/NAXXTBBG.png]He never intended on having an entire conversation with them, but it would seem that such a conversation was irrevocable. The skulk of foxes was going to kill them there was no doubt about it, had he not shown up when he did, there would be two bodies laying here and it was definately not going to be the foxes, but nonetheless, the two cats.
They were lucky this time, lucky that he had been trailing the foxes when he first gained wiffed of their scent, lucky that he had been hungry when he locked onto their scent; lucky that he killed them when he did.
Unlike other creatures, wolverines had no consideration of territories, for they -themselves, didn't live in territories of their own. They marked only their prey, and temperary living arrangements should they need them. For Naxx, there was no such thing as territories, or places that of which he wasn't allowed to cross, to him, the entire world was his and for everyone to share. Screw the cats for acusing him of tresspassing. He needed to eat, therefore, he went were the food was.
The male cat, Silvervolt thanked him for his intervention, giving a solid "We ow you a great debt of thanks"
|
[/i] Naxx paused, he hadn't heard such words in his entire life, it was rather the complete opposite, no one ever thanked him, no one ever bothered to see past the predator that he was, or nonetheless, saw past the overly aggessive hunter. "Where do you come from? What bring you to the forest?"[/i] Naxx had to think about that for a moment, but just as if the cat knew what buttons to press to turn him on edge, he knew the answers already. It would seem that his consort didn't approve of her mate having such conversations with such a vile predator as a wolverine, the very same animal that of which had been dubbed as a messenger from the living world to the world of the dead by the Navajo, the very same creature that had been nicknamed "Demon of the North" by many other tribes. -Blessed with a savage temper and the strength to take down pray as large as moose, to be able to feed on the nuitriants that lay deep within the bones of others. Nature had also blessed the wolverine with remarkable hearing to make up for poor eyesite, and he heard the words that came from the female's mouth, heard the disgust in her voice, the snap of her fangs as they struck her own tongue. He didn't put up an argument, he didn't protest her accusations, let alone, her beliefs, for all he cared, she was probably right, they didn't owe him a thing, he was just hungry at the time, and saw a bigger meal distracted by two cats... it was rather amazing how the food chain could interact in such things as fate. But it was true, he was from the mountains and the forest was not his home. He was born within the lands of Thunderclan as he had heard it called once, but he was never among their ranks for obvious reasons. Born from his mother's womb, he grew up there, socialized with them, and then went his seperate way when his father annouced the seperation of the family, and he made his home in the mountains, where he met his consort, where they bred, and had kits of their own, only for the mountain to be over-run with rogue dogs and mountain lions, those who would dare descend upon his family, and eventually they did, the dogs got lucky, and when they did, they took everything from him, his family, his children, his home, his pride, and they threw it right back in their face. Naxx wanted revenge, but he also wanted to seek out the answers as to what he had heard her say one... "My consort, See'iada, once said that we mus'nt allow ourselves to become chained to fate... perhaps I'm trying to find out what she meant... or maybe I'm out looking for blood.... it makes no difference... they still murdered her." he looked at them as he swallowed once, the shadows dimming as the sun began to cast light on his black tipped brown fur, before he glanced at the two foxes at his paws, wounds suffered by his own hand, a family that of which no longer had parents to ensure their survival, easy prey to all those who would dare enclosed upon them. They would've very well done the very same to him... they already did. [/size][/font][/color] [/blockquote][/blockquote] [/td][/tr][tr][td] [/td][/tr][/table][/center]

Silvervolt was silent for a moment. He wasn't sure who the Wolverine was speaking of, but it must have been someone important to him that he had lost. "When we are looking for answers to questions, we go to the Moonpool. We share tongues with our ancestors. Do you speak to your ancestors?" he asked.

Heartbreaker rolled her eyes and still looked at the big animal. She gave a blink and looked up at her mate and felt her shoulder and leg sting. "Silvervolt, can we please hurry up this conversation..." she growled through her teeth. Seeing he was so intersted in this wolverine then her she knew she wasnt going to get anywhere. She then decided to plop herself on the ground sill beside her mate and started licking her wounded leg. It stung but she knew she had to do it.

|
[/b] Naxx said as he looked down at the cat, brown eyes twisted in a familure wolverine rage that was bred into him. "When we loose someone we care about... we accept their death... and we get revenge." he answered clearly as he indicated the foxes at his paws. "It's the way we are." he stated firmly as he swallowed, looking far off to the horizon before glancing over his shoulder in the direction of their camp. "Do you speak to your ancestors?"[/i] the cat asked as Naxx turned his head to lay eyes on Silvervolt. "No." Naxx admitted as he steadied his gaze, "We don't put ourselves into a fantacy world and try to pretend they're still alive, and can still hear us. When they're dead," he furrowed an eyebrow, as he spoke, the glint in his fangs could very well be seen with each sylable, "-they're dead." he admitted as much as it struck him in the chest to do so. His consort, his mate, his two children, his mother, his sister, there was no point of a higher state of being, all they did was kill, -it was all that they were good at. It would seem that he was indeed boring the feline that stood beside Silvervolt, what was her name? Heartbreaker? -He had heard Silvervolt say her name a few times, and he couldn't help but take notice of how selfish she was. It would seem that he would get no thanks from her, let alone some gratitude, very well. That be it, the last time he intervened to save someone's life again; it all came down to a question of judgement, what was he trying to do? -Replace those he had lost? -Earn some gratitude rather than resentment? He knew that he would always be hunted, and he would always be hunting, he knew that he would venture to the edges of the world to trail the dogs that had so meaninglessly -taken everything from him in a blink of an eye. He would never forget the face of that Siberian Husky, those menacing blue eyes, that furious snarl, those fangs as he watched them embed themselves deeply into the throat of Si'eedia, he neck broken, her skull smashed in. -Already he felt the anger brewing, and he became aware of the fact that he was absent from hunger, -this was not food to him, no... this was boiled out of anger and rage; needless killing... but then again, he saw what they were doing, and knew deeply, that if he hadn't intervened, they would be in the very same doorstep as him, of them would be killed, the other left to mope the guilt upon him or her. So be it, if he wasn't welcome here, he'd leave. Picking up the foxes, he walked off without a word, tail dragging behind him as it always did, disappearing from site.
