Brackensmoke padded back into the camp, thinking about heading to the medicine cat's den.

Gingerstar looked over at Brackensmoke. "You have some scratches too," she admitted. "You'd better go to the medicine cat's den...though she probably is pretty busy," she added as an afterthought. She looked around, wondering if she should eat. Would it look bad? She DID just kill a fox though... she shrugged to herself and grabbed a squirrel out of the freshkill pile.
It was substantially smaller than they were used to, she admitted to herself as well. She should probably organize a patrol...

Since Crimsonheart's injuries were slightly of less concern than other cats', she was waiting in line to get the standard procedures done on her.

IC: Brackensmoke nodded wearily, sitting just to take a breather.

"Oh, and get some prey too," added Gingerstar worriedly, looking at the condition of her deputy. "You can have the rest of the day off...but organize a hunting patrol with the cats here that weren't on the fox killing patrol...oh, and Crimsonheart most probably will want to be picked. If she insists, let her go, there's no stopping her on these things, but try to get the apprentices into the hunting patrol this time."

Brackensmoke dipped his head. "Yes, Gingerstar. I'll be a moment..." he padded off to the medicine cat's den.

((idk who plays Skymist so I dunno... I saw that she was up for adoption but no one else posted there so idk))

Gingerstar had finished her prey and was looking for something to do. The tall leader was unused to having nothing to do, and was at quite a loss. The patrol was over, the fox was dead, so now what? She knew she could organize the hunting patrol but then that would be Brackensmoke's job. She knew that she should leave him something to do.
She shrugged and padded over, fixing a loose piece of bramble in the nursery wall with her strong jaws.

OOC: Maybe we should just start another thread for patrols and such... I mean, that's what the other sites do.

IC: Brackensmoke returned from the medicine cat's den a short time later, feeling a little refreshed but hungry. After eating, he would form the patrols.

Gingerstar wondered if there was anything else to do. She sighed, climbing up the highstones to her den and curled up. She was exhausted, and of course she didn't let that show to her fellow warriors, but now it was obvious.
She closed her eyes momentarily. She would have a short nap.

Magicheart licked her paw gingerly and waited for Starpaw. Firetail eagerly padded over to Gingerstar. "The border is safe? Was anyone injured?" he inquired.

Gingerstar gave a start as she saw Firetail outside the den.
"No serious injuries except for some scratches...and Magicheart's torn a claw," she added, going thorugh the list of injuries in her mind. "Other than that, all is safe," she nodded. "The fox is dead, but if you're on a patrol, watch out...the fox might have had some relatives nearby."
