Eclipsedstar glanced around pleased. "Hey everyone! Great job, the camp is almost as good as new!" he purrs. "I am proud of all of you. Lostclan will never daunt Shadowclan! As long as there is one Shadowclan warrior in this forest, we will fight!" he calls proudly.

Willowleaf padded up beside Eclipsedstar. She did not look as joyful as he did. Many things had been troubling her in the few days that had passed since the battle, and the Moonpool meeting. She was still worried about the state of Windclan, who had taken more damage than Shadowclan in the Lostclan attack.
"Lostclan is getting rather bold. First they attack us, then flee to regroup in Windclan. I had to help Whitepaw, there were so many injuries. According to some of the cats that were there, both Pantherfang and Russettail were missing when Lostclan first attacked them. Several of the apprentices vanished as well, and two of them are dead. Shadowclan may be thriving, but Windclan, is not. If one clan is hurt, we will all become unbalanced. The silence from Starclan also worries me. I'm not sure what to do now, how to carry on, and Shadowstar still says nothing in my dreams..." Willowleaf confessed all her troubles to Eclipsedstar just then, a deep sorrow in her crystal eyes.
The sky began to turn red as the sun sunk lower behind the trees.
Red.
The color of war.
The color of blood.
The color of pain.

Eclipsedstar sighed and turned his eyes to his medicine cat. They reflected his wariness, even if his voice proclaimed hope. "We can't give up, Willowleaf. The ones that died in Windclan....were any of them of the Eight?" he asked, his voice tight with worry. "If I can give the clan courage and hope to carry on, I will do it as long as I can." he says softly.

"I will not forsake my clan or the forest as long as I draw breath. But it is harder to give my clan hope when my face belies my fear and dread. It is easier when I talk about how I feel. You have always listened to me, my friend, and leader. You give me hope, as a true leader should," Willowleaf's face lightened slightly, but fell again upon Eclipsedstar's next question.
"One of them, yes. Sparrowpaw, your sister..." Willowleaf looked away, knowing such news would further harm her leader's fragile heart.

Eclipsedstar tried to draw a breath, but felt as if his throat closed entirely. "I..." The leader lowered his head, ashamed by the emotions gracing his usual proud features. He could feel his claws unsheath, curling into the dirt and back into his own paw pads until blood began to trickle out of them. "My poor mother and father....they must be devastated...but this means....Willowleaf, have we already failed?" His eyes wide with pain and fear, the Shadowclan leader addressed his medicine cat.

"I'm not sure. Starclan has not spoken to me since Windclan's battle to request my aid. I wonder if they even know..." Willowleaf spoke nothing but the truth that had been worrying her to death for days.
"It would seem all clans have had losses from these terrible events. Each of the clans has lost one of the chosen, save Thunderclan. But Ghostflight has revealed herself as the traitor of Thunderclan. She stole Thunderclan's kits..." she trailed off then, not wanting to tell exactly how many atrocities she had committed that night, for the name left bile in her throat. She was reminded of Shadowclan's situation.
"We still have not identified the traitor of Shadowclan, Eclipsedstar. That cat could be among us even now..." she realized. For a split second, she thought of Blackheart, but it was quickly followed with the words from Shadowstar that she defend Blackheart from such accusations.
((So, are Phoenixpaw and Rockpaw going to get together? Scott forgot to set up that list of mates.
And also, he put Whitepaw's bio in Lostclan. Could you fix that for me?))

(Sure, and yes we can pair them up. I'll make a mates board)
"You mean three of the eight are already dead?" he called out helplessly, his voice tight with grief for his sister. "I never even got to know Sparrowpaw. I wanted so much to spend time with her..." he sighed, but then perked up at Willowleaf's next piece of news. "Ghostflight the traitor?" he growled in shock. "How do they disguise themselves so well? Ghostflight and Drowningspirit....are those the only two we know? Perhaps, we should channel our energy in trying to destroy them first, like my father did long ago. Even if it only postpones the peace, I would rather have some for a while than risk any other damage or pain to our clan..." he wondered aloud, narrowing his eyes as he observed his clanmates bustling around the camp. Who could be a traitor of these cats? Most I have known all my life...could I really be so blind as to not know? "I would ask you to go to the moonpool, Willowleaf, but you just came from there not long ago, and I worry for your safety." he admitted.

Willowleaf nodded.
"Perhaps, but we should be more concerned about the source of the threat. The Traitors may rally Lostclan and provide information, but it is Lostclan that is the source, and so we must find a way to repel them. that should be our first priority," Willowleaf answered.
"At this time Starclan has been silent. Perhaps they are as confused as we are, or waiting for a new sign..." she wondered aloud, while watching the Shadowclan cats move about, repairing. She watched, as though some strange movement, some wrong gleam of the eyes, could tip off who the traitor in the clan was.

Willowleaf! A familiar whispered hiss resounded from the medicine cat's den. Visit me in your dreams!
Eclipsedstar continued to look at his clanmates, mulling over the words of his medicine cat. "I'd like to believe that they are doing all they can to help us, and that we're not doomed after all...." he sighed.

Her silvery ears pricked upon hearing Shadowstar's voice, and relief flooded her. She knew Starclan hadn't abandoned the forest. She knew they would have some answers. Her faith had slightly faltered, but she had never lost it.
She stood up. "I have some herbs to check up on. Some of my supplies are a bit low... if you'll excuse me, Eclipsedstar..." she said tactfully, not wanting to give her leader false hope. She dipped her head respectfully, and padded off, slipping into her den.
She curled into her nest and closed her eyes, quickly being thrust into a dream.
She was at the Moonpool, and Whitepaw sat beside her, silent, her blue eyes reflecting stars, staring unseeing into the depths of the pool. Shadowstar was there too, stardust glittering around his pure black fur, and he stared at the sky, reading the stars.
"You wished to speak to me, Shadowstar?" she said politely, dipping her head to the former leader and founder of Shadowclan. Whitepaw was still silent, but looked up at Willowleaf, as though trying to convey some message to her in her crystal gaze.

Shadowstar dipped his head to Willowleaf. "Thank you for coming so quickly, Willowleaf. You never fail to hear my calls. It is nice to have a Shadowclan medicine cat with such strong faith again." he turned his attention to Whitepaw then, his look reflecting his surprise and amusement. "And Whitepaw, I am surprised that you are hear, but glad as well. I wasn't going to send for you until later, but I have important news for you as well." he said with a cryptic smile to the Windclanner. He turned back to Willowleaf to address her first. "As you know, we have lost some of the eight. It is out of the ordinary for me to speak on behalf of another clan, and quite improper, but under these circumstances...." the tom sighed. "Not only has Sparrowpaw been lost, but Rainfeather as well. Pantherfang is on the brink of collapse from his grief, and both he and Eclipsedstar have crucial roles to play yet in this forest before all is said and done. Windclan suffered grave losses from Lostclan's attack. I fear that if I come to him now, I will be of little use besides angering him. He needs a reminder of what he still has, and that it is worth protecting and fighting for. So..." Shadowstar paused a moment to take a deep breath. "I am afraid Shadowclan will have to risk some exposure. I feel that Pantherfang will only respond to comfort from his son." He meowed, studying Willowleaf closely.

Willowleaf felt as thoguh she was under-water, her ears rushing as she took in his words. She had known Windclan's situation had been bad, but she had not known the ture extent of the casualties.
"I believe that Eclipsedstar needs reassurance as well. Perhaps it is best if the leader of Shadowclan meets with his father. We cannot afford to lose Pantherfang," she reflected, though worried about what might happen. Would Lostclan attack again? Could she risk a life of her leader? He still had eight left, but that hardly mattered. When it came down to it, was she willing to risk the safety of Eclipsedstar?
Whitepaw spoke up then. "What of the Eight, Shadowstar? Can they be reborn?" she asked, rather boldly, but feeling the concern was too great to observe formality. Her crystal white tail twitched in anticipation. Willowleaf, who had turned to look at Whitepaw when the apprentice had spoken up, shifted her attention back to Shadowstar, anxious as the snow furred apprentice next to her.

Shadowstar turned to Whitepaw. "It is destined that there will be eight on the journey. While none of the eight will be "reborn", it doens't mean that their roles won't be passed onto another cat...but not even Starclan know for sure. We don't know how substituting other cats will influence the success or failure of the Eight." he sighed, "Unfortunately, we know very little. But there is hope!" He smiled. "Yellowfang left us with two other Starclanners not long ago, Eclipsedstar's grandfather and Starpaw's mother. They left to go to the old forest to give aid to the apprentices when they return. It seems that they have successfully passed through the mountains, sensing Windclan's need and sending you a medicine cat." Shadowstar nodded. "At first, I was confused at how a cat from the Tribe would be able to communicate with our ancestors, but your new arrival has clan cat blood in him, Whitepaw. Perhaps, someday he will tell you more...however, the herb-lore of the mountain cats will be a great asset at this time. Windclan will have a medicine cat again, Whitepaw. I am charging you with reassuring your clan with his capabilities, and passing on your knowledge to him where he is ignorant. I am also counting on your to allow Eclipsedstar into your camp to speak with Pantherfang. Hopefully, the two of you will be able to keep hostilities between your clans at a minimum if they occur." he said calmly. "Now, do either of you have anything you wish to ask me before you wake up?" he asked, an uncommon offer from a Starclan cat.

"I will do my best," Willowleaf and Whitepaw spoke at the same time, then stopped, exchanging confused and slightly amused glances. They had certainly made fast friends, and Willowleaf had been reassuring the crystal furred apprentice in the time without her mentor. The older cream and silver she-cat knew Whitepaw posessed innate wisdom, and a rather curious knack for herblore. As though Starclan had picked her out solely to join the clans. If only the truth were that bright, that glorious.
Upon Shadowstar's offer, Willowleaf shook her head. "I am glad you are sending someone to teach this young apprentice. She has so much potential," Willowleaf spoke humbly, making Whitepaw flush, feeling hot under her long snowy pelt.
Whitepaw was curious. "Is there anyone that can help me bridge the gap between our different ways of life...?" the apprentice asked, feeling unsure. She knew only so much of clan life. She needed someone to help her. Was there such a cat? Someone who knew of the cats that lived beyond the mountains?
Willowleaf looked puzzled at Whitepaw's insecureties, but said nothing of the matter. She wrapped her silver tail around Whitepaw in an effort to comfort her as well as assure her of her support.
((This gives a good chance for Phoenixpaw and Rockpaw to meet. hehee))

Shadowstar was quiet a moment, debating the potential dangers of revealing what he knew of Moontears' past to Whitepaw. "There are three toms in Riverclan that have ties to Moontears. However, Rockpaw is the only one who came from the mountains himself. The other two are unaware how much they share with him..." Shadowstar trailed off, realizing that he said too much.
