Not recieving any opposition, Eclipsedstar padded over to Pantherfang. "Father?" he questioned softly.
Pantherfang's emerald eyes flickered open and he gazed at his son with glazed, recognition filled eyes. "Eclipsedstar? What are you doing here?" he asked in a monotoned voice as he stood to greet his son.
Eclipsedstar butted his head into his father's shoulder. "I have come to grieve with you." he whispered, staring at his slain mother and sister passionately, as if he could will the life back into them and they would stand any moment.
"It is over, Eclipsedstar. There is nothing left for me here. My spirit died with theirs...I couldn't even save Sparrowpaw!" he lamented, lowering his head in shame and agony. "Not only did I bring death and destruction to this forest when I originally made Lostclan, but I allowed its only chance of salvation to be killed."
Eclipsedstar furrowed his brow and stepped back in shock. "S-started Lostclan?" The Shadowclan leader shook his head in disbelief. "Impossible...but why?" thoughts raced into the leader's head, back to the day when his deputy was murdered on the thunderpath by Bear, who had mentioned something about Pantherfang keeping secrets from him about his past. The giant black tabby narrowed his eyes. "This has something to do with Bear, doesn't it?" he asked.
Moontears blinked and turned to Whitepaw. "What is it that plagues the clans? In the stories my mother told me, she mentioned nothing about dead cats, and clans intermingling, and the fear of leaving camp without warriors..." he recalled with some sadness.

"Sunstorm, are you awake?" Willowleaf meowed before entering the medicine den.
"Willowleaf," the deputy acknowledged smoothly. She didn't move, only twitched her tail as she wondered what ShadowClan was doing here.
"You seem to be doing better," the silver pawed medicine cat noted. The tension here was clear, and there was an air of awkwardness between them.
"I wouldn't be a good deputy if I couldn't recover quickly," Sunstorm replied, sounding just a little cross. Did Willowleaf expect her not to recover from this fight? Could she perhaps sense the turmoil inside the fiery deputy's heart?
Whitepaw sighed. "LostClan is what brings calamity to this forest. Cats with pelts black as the night, black as their ambitious, cruel hearts. They have been spreading discord across the Clans, bringing the scent of death, blood, and strife with their presence," she explained, her voice melancholy. And once I was among their ranks... oh... what has become of my dear brother without me there, his only family? she added in her mind, though she worked hard so none of the despair showed in her features or her voice. She dared not ponder the consequences should her origins be revealed.

"You sound wise beyond your years, and this threat sounds more devastating than any I have come across yet in my years." he said with a sigh. "I can only hope that this is where I should be, and that I can be of help to you, though I wish I could have found you in a more peaceful time." he said with a sad smile.
At the mention of his uncle and the murderer of his daughter, a dangerous flame ignited in Pantherfang's eyes. He leapt to his feet, "Bear?!" the black tom roared, his fangs glittering and murder in his eyes. "I will tear out his throat! I will make him suffer an unbearable death!" Pantherfang seethed, his sides rising and falling with his rapid breathing.
"Who is he? He when he came to Shadowclan and killed my deputy, he mentioned that you had secrets about your past, and he seemed to recognize me somehow..." Eclipsedstar asked with questioning, yet fearful eyes. He hadn't seen his father this angry in a long, long time.
"Bear is my uncle." Pantherfang spat with contempt. "And yes, I started Lostclan originally after I left Ripper's pack in order to find my brother. Bear was one of the leading cats who led a rebellion against me. I curse myself for not taking care of him long ago..." The black tom sighed, sadness and grief overwhelming him again.

"Peace?" Whitepaw echoed. "I would like to know that feeling... what is it like, Moontears?" Whitepaw asked, a strange light in her blue eyes. She wanted to know what it felt like, to wake without worry of what the next day would bring. To walk the forest without fear of her origins lurking in the darkness.
"Be well, WindClan deputy. May StarClan light your path," Willwoleaf ended the awkward silence between them and dipped her head nervously. Sunstorm said nothing, only nodding her head dismissively as the medicine cat left.

Moontears closed his eyes for a moment, to get lost inside himself. He had never felt much peace in the Tribe, being the outcast he was, but he felt peace right before he would walk with the ancestors in their dreams. Knowing that they cared for him, and would take care of him and his tribe, gave him a great sense of peace. Listening to Lynxpelt's stories, in fact, he used to associate this forest as peace. She spoke about it to him as if it were the very embodiment of it. Moontears sighed. His own experience was turning out to be quite different. "When you feel peace, there is this moment in time when you're just in your element. You know who you are, and you know that you are strong. You know that you can handle anything that walks in your path, and no matter what comes your way, everything will be alright. And then there's just this sweeping calm that takes you over, as if someone is cradling you in their paws, supporting you and simultaneously, ready to catch your fall...and you're ok with either one of those things if it happens." he said softly with strong conviction, locking his blue eyes on Whitepaw's. (wow, powerful post!) Eclipsedstar couldn't believe what he was hearing. His father's uncle had murdered his sister? He could happily rip his throat out too! "Father....I'm afraid Shadowclan hasn't faired well either....we lost both of our apprentices...I'm not sure what this means for the forest...." he admitted sadly, feeling as though he had let down his own clan, not to mention the other three. Pantherfang blinked at his son. "Eclipsedstar, we defeated them without the Eight the first time. Not all of the Four have yet risen to power. There is still hope for the forest...but as for myself, I feel little purpose or place here anymore..." he sighed, then glanced at his son with a smile. "You are strong, Eclipsedstar, and gifted with the added eight lives a leader. You are all that Rainfeather and I ever hoped for and more. Carry on in the forest, help save it....start your own family. If it cannot be saved, the clans will survive somehow. We've moved homes before." he said quietly. "I would just as soon give all of my remaining eight lives here, for my clan and those I love before I ever turned away." Eclipsedstar meowed sternly. Pantherfang gazed at his son with pain in his eyes. "Remaining eight lives?" he asked, his sight searching deep into his son's. Something stirred in him then, the thought of watching his son lose a life was unbearable. The thought that he had already lost one hurt him considerably. The giant black tom narrowed his eyes. "You're right. There is still something worth fighting for." he meowed. It was like seeing his son for the first time, strong and majestic, the leader of his own clan. I want to watch my son succeed. I want to see my grandkits. he thought suddenly, passion alighting back in him.

Whitepaw was dazzled by the powerful words of her mentor. Blue eyes were locked with blue eyes as she beheld him, taking in the feeling that he described, imagining it, wishing she could hold it between her delicate snow white paws.
"I would like to feel that..." she said at last, exasperated. "I was born into a cruel, heartless world. Even here, things aren't peaceful... even though my own brother sacrficed his love for me to bring me here... I only wish he could have followed me..." she spoke, not quite knowing how much her words could be hinting at.

Moontears nodded in understanding, not at all prodding for further meaning. "I, too, had to leave family behind. It can be very hard, but we have to follow our own paths, and where our paws carry us. There is a part of those we love in us that we'll always have, no matter how far apart we are. I have faith that you will meet your brother again. We are always drawn to the ones that we love." he meowed carefully.
Panthefang stood taller and with more conviction. The day would come where he would walk with Rainfeather and Sparrowpaw, and Twilight, his brother again. But, it was not yet his time. Before he left this world, he wanted to make sure that his son was safe....his only remaining family. Eclipsedstar could see the change in his father, and it surprised him. He had forgotten just how strong his father was, and not just physically. He glanced over at Willowleaf, feeling somehow that their mission was nearing completion.

Willowleaf padded over to Whitepaw and Moontears, allowing Eclipsedstar more time with his father. She glanced at Moontears curiously.
"Are you new to WindClan?" She meowed, slightly embarrased should she have been mistaken.
"He was sent here by StarClan to teacdh me in Ripplewhisker's place," Whitepaw answered for him.
"So, you are to be WindClan's new medicine cat then?" she asked, turning her gently blue gaze back to Moontears again. "Well met. I am Willowleaf, the medicine cat of ShadowClan," she introduced herself politely.

Moontears lowered his head deeply. He could sense that this was a cat of great wisdom before him. "I have come from the Tribe in the mountains...there were ancestors that walked in my dreams that told me to come here....but I don't believe they were mine..." he raised his bright blue eyes to meet her gaze. "I would love to speak with you more....my mother told me that the medicine cats gather together sometimes." he said. "she used to live in this forest....perhaps, that is why your ancestors could speak to me..." he trailed off.
Eclipsedstar looked uneasily at his father. "Dad, just don't do anything too reckless....ok?" he meowed. Pantherfang gazed back at his son, his eyes still not nearly as bright as they once were. "I will make sure that you are safe. Beyond that, I can promise nothing. I do not fear death, Eclipsedstar. I have lived a good life, and I know what waits for me on the other side." he said calmly.

Willowleaf's ear flicked uncomfortably as he bowed his head before her. The feeling went away when he righted himself though.
"Yes, we meet on the new moon to share dreams with StarClan," Willowleaf answered. "We shall see each other again then, but Eclipsedstar and I should return to our own camp," Willowleaf added. Mewing farewell to Moontears and Whitepaw, she padded over to Eclipsedstar.
"When you are ready, let us return to ShadowClan territory," she dipped her head to him as she spoke.
"So, you are Eclipsedstar's father. I see much of him in you," Willowleaf noted, and wasn't talking about any physical resemblance.
Whitepaw looked at Moontears. "So... let's go herb gathering," she offered, and began padding towards the camp entrance, but stopped when a strange scent wafted through her nose. The reek of carrion... Whitepaw's blue eyes widened as a group of cats came racing into the camp.
"We're being attacked!" she yowled, and before she could turn to run, she found herself face to face with a familiar tom.
"Midnight," she gasped.
"You," was all Midnight said, and his red-tinged gold eyes narrowed. But he merely shoved her out of the way.
Sunstorm emerged from the medicine den after hearing the alarm. A snarl escaped her throat when she saw Midnight. Adrenaline surged through her, and her healing injuries were quickly forgotten as she pounced on him.
"YOU!" she screeched. "YOU KILLED FOXPAW!!!!" she clawed at him, and the two cats were rolling along the ground, trying to gain ground over the other.
Ghostflight scanned the camp, which was quickly becoming a bloody battlefield, looking for a target. "There," she gestured towards Eclipsedstar with her tail. "Shall we?" she looked at Drowningspirit.
((Are you going to play Jaystar? I was planning on Coal taking at least his last life))

Russettail padded over silently to where Eclipsedstar and Pantherfang were talking. He hated leaving Phoenixpaw so soon after getting her back, but he had to talk to Pantherfang. Reaching his lifelong friend's side, he felt a pang of sympathy. Here was his only remaining kin, and from a different Clan, too! His red fur brushed along gray as he twined his tail with his friend, giving him strength.
Emberfoot woke with a start to hear the Clan deputy let out a vicious snarl. The whole camp had erupted into a vicious fight while she had been dozing contentedly! Anger filled her ice blue eyes as she struggled to escape the grasps of sleep. Heather flew as she leaped out of her nest and tried to figure out who was fighting who, her head twisting around violently. Two cats, locked in combat rolled past him, and he recognized Sunstom as one of them. She unsheathed her claws, snarling as they dug into the soft moorland. Waiting for the other cat to come up on top, he scored deep claw marks into the enemy's flank, hoping that those would distract him/her enough to loosen the hold on Sunstorm. Not waiting to see what would happen, she bounded away, trying to find out what was going on. She turned her head sharply as she recognized Whitepaw, the medicine cat apprentice. "What's going on? she yowled over the turmoil of the battle

Already the bloodlust was dying from her eyes as Midnight was suddenly pulled off of her. But Emberfoot had already raced away before Sunstorm could give thanks. She whipped around to see Midnight rising to his paws, his gold eyes turning redder by the second with rage.
"I see you still have fight in you, even after you sustained such injury," he hissed at her, his voice having a strange tone to it, as though it was almost two voices speaking.
"You took away my apprentice..." she snarled, her gold eyes glowing with hatred. Her whole body surged, given strength by her love for Foxpaw, by the grief struck from his death, by the desire for revenge against this young LostClan warrior. Whitepaw could only stare in shock and terror. But she remembered reality when Emberfoot approached.
"LostClan suddenly rushed into camp!" She meowed. She realized she should take cover- what if, somehow, one of them recognized her? Coal would be the first... he had always glanced at her with suspicion in his eyes during her days in LostClan.

Russettail dropped into a defensive crouch as warriors flooded the camp. Fires danced in his eyes as he remembered that he had left his daughter only minutes before. I have to make sure she's OK... Pantherfang will be alright with his son... I hope. His eyes darted from side to side as he pushed his way through the tide of cats, trying desperately to find Phoenixpaw. "Phoenix-- he started to yowl as he was cut off by a cat slamming into him. Anger flooded his mind as he struggled to get away, thinking only of his kin.
Emberfoot snarled with anger as she hear Whitepaw's response. Those... she was so mad she couldn't even think straight! Her tail lashing furiously over her bloody and dirty paws as she searched out another victim. Jumping on top of a lean tabby, she raked her claws furiously down the tom's side. He lashed back, but Emberfoot was quicker, and dodged the swipe, racing down the cat's side, claws simply trailing along his sides, leaving four long scratch marks in his hide. "Take that!" she hissed, sending him flying out of the clearing. Satisfied that at least one cat wouldn't be returning to the battle, she weaved through the fighting cats, trying to find either Sunstorm or Russettail. Once again he spotted Sunstorm, squaring off with the red-eyed cat Emberfoot had pulled off the deputy earlier. Emberfoot was content to fight off LostClan cats, keeping an eye on her Clan's deputy, should she get ambushed by a group of LostClan warriors.

((You should probably know that the whole of LostClan's warriors are black-pelted))
"Who are you?" Sunstorm growled, noticing the change in the black tom before her. Confusion took her. His eyes had changed from gold to red, and his voice was deeper.
"The Forlorn Shadow," Midnight replied. "I, who have stolen the sight of one, and taken your precious apprentice," he smirked then, showing his glittering, already blood-stained fangs from where he had bit into her shoulder.
Sunstorm hissed, and bunching up her muscles, pounced, screaming with the fury of LionClan. She dug her claws into Midnight's ebony pelt, pinning him to the ground. But all it took was one free hind leg, and a cheap shot to the chest, to send Sunstorm sprawling, freeing the lithe black tom from her grasp. Blood began to seep from his wounds, making his pelt all the darker. He prowled towards her, his eyes mere crimson slits. She lay gasping on the ground- the blow had reminded her that she was not completely recovered.
"That is the trouble with you noble warriors. You never know when to quit. You are so troublesome," he mocked, sounding much like his former mentor, Coal.
"And you... are black-pelted cowards... who hide... in the shadows... waiting to... ambush us... you have... no honor..." she gasped, though vitality and fierceness still sparked in her eyes, which were gold flames. She refused to look weak, and even though she lay, barely able to move, her eyes sparkled in defiance. I'll not be going to StarClan just yet... no... she refused in her head., even as he loomed over her.

(oops....)
Emberfoot silently raged in fury as Midnight threw off Sunstorm. She knew the deputy could not last too much longer. Aiming a final blow at the warrior she had been fighting, Emberfoot prowled around so she was behind the tom who was gloating to the defeated WindClan cat. Making sure her paws made no sound, she crept up behind Midnight, and with a quick sweep of her paws, dislodged both of the LostClan warrior's back legs, throwing him on his side. Not waiting for the ebony pelted warrior to realize what was going on, she leaped to his side and pinned him to the hard earth, panting hard. Her claws sank in and out of his shoulder, right next to the joint. If she had aimed right, that shoulder wouldn't work for days, or months. "Whitepaw!" she yowled, hoping that the apprentice would hear her and take care of Sunstorm.
